Possibilities

Updated: Mar 17, 2020

Hi everyone!

It is not often that I sit down and just create. With the online store and my digital creations it seems like there is never time to just create. Well today was all about that. With all the craziness going on right now, I wanted to create a collage to document this moment and know that it will pass. It also gave me a chance to play with my ephemera and Distress Embossing Glazes.

The base of the project is Bolsa Board. It is very light weight and perfect for wall art.

I started by gathering some supplies: Patterned tissue paper Paper Dolls Ephemera packs Metal elements

I covered the Bolsa wood with walnut stain distress stain. Then I added the tissue paper using some Distress collage medium.

I cut out the Globe die from Sizzix and added some peeled paint embossing gaze to it. I used the embossing dauber to add my ink and it worked great. I also added some distress glaze to my paper doll using the embossing pen.

Once the background was dry, I started adding layers from my ephemera packs. I used the bigger layers for the background and built up my scene from there. When you are creating a layered collage, there are many options. You first start with your bigger pieces for your background then, continue to layer When I am creating collages, I like to make sure I have some balance and use colors that will compliment each other. I also love to add metal elements and some 3D items as well.

I add my ephemera pieces using the distress collage medium. To finish it off, I found the perfect chip board sentiment and added the word HOPE to my globe.

Be sure to check out my YouTube video where I show you some of the details of this project as well as a few tips and tricks.

Happy Crafting!
