Hi Friends! Happy Saturday. I am here today to share with you my first Halloween project of the season. I know not everyone is into the Creepy, Scary type of projects, but I love creating those types of projects. I am not really a cutesy kind of crafter and if you have been following me for a while, I probably am not telling you anything new.
I was inspired by a project that Paula from One Lucky day created for the Tim Holtz Idea-ology release. While her project is a bit more involved, I loved the idea of using the match boxes as displays and focal points.
The board I used was an old cutting board that I found in a local thrift store. I stained it using walnut stain and covered it with the poison tissue paper.
I pointed the bottom of the match box black and spaced them uneven next to each other on the board. I added some ephemera and filled the bottles with distress embossing glaze and some red alcohol ink. I even dripped some of the alcohol ink down the 13 cent sign for a little added creepy!
The keys i used were from my stash. I found them in an antique shop in Pine Arizona. I love the age and grunginess of them. I also filled one of the bottles with some eyeballs!
As a final touch, i added some thick board labels. It was a fun project to create. I also have a video share over on my Youtube Channel if you want to check it out.
Thanks for stopping by and Creepy Crafting!
